Work with Me

If you are feeling frustrated by the repeating cycles of effort and burnout, of taking one step forward and then falling back into a freeze. Or if the overwhelm and anxiety are draining the joy out of your working life, then I would love to have a conversation about whether we can change that.
Coaching and CBT won’t offer you quick fixes or rigid advice, I won’t tell you what to do. Instead we’ll work together to unpack what has been happening, and how to move forwards. And whilst coaching is distinct from counselling, focusing on the present rather than the past, we will hold space for the memories, experiences, and emotions that come up in the process, recognising that you are the product of all the things that have happened to you up until now.
Where to begin:
Coaching is an investment in yourself, so you want to make sure you are investing in the right place. I offer different packages of support to ensure you get exactly what you need from the process:
Coaching
Coaching offers support for here and now functioning as well as planning for the future. I specialise in supporting women who want to thrive at work but are starting to find that the coping strategies they used in the past are less effective. I also support women dealing with chronic health and mental health conditions that affect their ability to work, and creatives who are feeling stuck or blocked. My approach tackles stress and burnout at the root, working body to brain. We start with stabilisation and grounding, establishing what is happening in your nervous system and finding tools to help you feel more in control. Only then do we move to processing what has been going on and how this is affecting you. The last stage is integration, bringing it all together in setting goals and making a plan for the future.
Coaching takes place over a fluid number of sessions, depending on the level of support you need and the focus of our work together. We always start with one 90 minute session to get to know one another and clarify our direction. Then we agree how to move forwards and go from there.
CBT+
CBT is an evidence-based toolkit to help relieve the symptoms of anxiety, low mood, and worry. As a trained somatic practitioner I also include body-based tools in my work with clients so that we can tackle your distress in the body, emotions, thoughts, and behaviours (this approach is sometimes called third wave CBT). CBT+ works by helping you to notice how your body and brain are responding to experiences, to track how you are interpreting and acting in response to thoughts and feelings, and then to gently create shifts over time. It is a gentle and effective method for feeling more in control of your everyday life, one which has helped me personally and so many of my clients.
CBT+ is a focused intervention for emotional and mental health challenges that are affecting your quality of life. It is a more directive approach than coaching and takes place over a shorter period of time, usually for between 6 to 12 sessions (depending on how you feel as we work together). We meet weekly or fortnightly and do regular reviews of your progress.
Regulate your nervous system
Regulate is a time-limited 6 session intensive support package to learn how to work with your nervous system, not against it. This package offers the ideal support for periods of high stress, redundancy negotiations, burnout recovery, a creative project, or life transitions. We meet for 6 1 hour coaching calls over three months. You also receive all three modules in my Burnout Rewire course to watch in your own time. After each session I send you a personalised support package of tools and resources to help build your toolkit for nervous system regulation and ongoing cognitive processing. I am available to you on Whatsapp for voicenotes between sessions.
Regulate is designed for people who know they need support to understand and work with their nervous system, but don’t know where to start. The coaching is focused on understanding how your unique body and brain function, and on putting in place systems that can help you feel more in control day-to-day. This is my most directive, guided package concentrating exclusively on the nervous system element of wellbeing.
FAQs:
What’s the financial investment for coaching and CBT?
Your initial 90 minute session is £120. You’ll come away with a clear idea of what you want to focus on and how we are going to work together. After that, 1 hour sessions are £80. Or pay upfront for a package of 6 sessions for £420.
How much does Regulate cost?
Regulate your Nervous System is complete package of support for £600. Your investment covers x6 1 hour coaching sessions, the Burnout Rewire course, follow-on materials, and whatsapp check-ins between sessions.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, I offer a discount on individual sessions for students and NHS staff. I am also happy to agree installment plans for Regulate and coaching packages.
Where and when do you see clients?
I offer sessions on zoom during working hours Monday-Wednesday and Friday, I also have a couple of slots on Saturday mornings if needed. I am able to see a small number of in-person clients in Bridge of Allan, Stirling.
How do we start working together?
I see all potential clients for a 30 minute zoom call to get a sense of one another and discuss the concerns that are bringing you to coaching. If we decide to go ahead we then schedule our initial 90 minute session to discuss everything in more detail and make a plan. You can book a call with me using the form below and I’ll get back to you within 48 hours.
I’m already in counselling, can I still try coaching?
Yes, coaching and counselling can work alongside one another well as they focus on different things, but CBT may not be appropriate if you are already engaged in therapeutic work with a counsellor. Regulate would also be suitable as an adjunct to counselling.
What are you like as a coach?
Well, I’m an academic, so I love a good deep conversation and I love to find practical solutions to problems. I am systemic in my outlook, meaning I am interested not just in you but also the communities, systems, and cultures you are part of and how they affect you. I am a huge cheerleader for my clients, a believer in self-compassion as the best motivator, and I have a dark sense of humour. I’m also the coach for you if you like a bit of neurospicy mental ping-pong. Strong opinions on sci-fi also welcome.
