Yoga & Somatic Therapy Classes

I am a RYT-200 qualified yoga facilitator, with additional trainings in trauma informed yoga and yin yoga. My group classes combine yoga with neuroscience infomed somatics to help participants engage with mindful movement that is all about how it feels, not about how it looks. Somatic yoga focuses on being aware of our internal state as we practice, with a particular focus on regulating the nervous system. My classes always include guided therapeutic practices to help participants support their mental and emotional wellbeing.

Somatic therapy/Yoga 1-2-1 – £55

Somatic therapy and yoga therapy can focus on your movement goals and physical health, as well as your mental and emotional well-being. I offer somatic therapy based on somatic experiencing, sensorymotor psychotherapy, and pain reprocessing therapy, combined with the movements and practices of yoga. These mind-body approaches are great for recovering from burnout, working with long-term physical and mental health challenges, developing resilience, and supporting your nervous system capacity. At our initial contracting we would agree to some goals that you have for the sessions and design a programme to work toward together. Sessions are conducted at The Wee Therapy Room, Bridge of Allan.

Somatic Yoga classes:

Mondays 6pm The Yoga Tree Stirling & Online via zoom

Tuesdays 6pm The Wee Yoga Room Bridge of Allan (starting January 2026)

Somatic yoga combines mindful asana practice with deep stretches and anatomy-led modifications to release stress and tension from the body, allowing you to wind down and find more ease at the end of the day.  Each class is a little different, weaving in elements of strength, balance, stretch, and flow, with guided meditations and breathwork.  This is a trauma-informed class meaning we focus on how the practice feels and how our nervous system is responding, not on how it looks.  This class is a wonderful support for stress and anxiety relief, as well as supporting your overall physical health and wellbeing.

On demand classes:

A library of pre-recorded classes varying in length from 10 minutes to 45 minutes, sorted into categories to make it easier to find what you are looking for. New classes are added each week, often in response to member requests. Subscription is on a monthly basis and can be cancelled at any time. Subscribers also receive a weekly email on Monday morning linking directly to new classes and offering a suggested calendar of classes for the week to make a consistent practice easier.

Yoga classes at The Peak (Stirling)

I teach a Friday night trauma informed class at 6pm in Studio 3 every week. The class is 45 minutes and combines trauma informed yoga principles with somatic yoga flows. We always start with gentle and targeted mobilisation of joints and muscle groups, then move into a flow that builds on those foundation movements, finishing with deep stretches and a short reflection. You are welcome to bring your own mat and props, the studio provides basic mats and blocks but you might want a blanket or strap to support your practice. The class is mixed-ability and every aspect is optional.

Starting in January I will be adding a Vinyasa Flow class on Friday night at the Peak. This will be an intermediate-level class focusing on combining anatomical awareness and mindful practice to find more freedom in our yoga asanas.

Book a class through Active Stirling.
